English Language Challenges

In my experience learning English in the university has been very useful and it has helped me in my vocabulary and in the pronunciation (that is my weak area ), I think now I’m talking better than before because I have to practice to make the homework’s like the videos and write this blogs.
Before this course I only came to class one day a week and the class was intense, but now I think is better because you practice two days a week (and I don’t have to wake up early).

I like writing in blogs although I need help every time with the vocabulary, in general with the terms in past or present, that confuses me a lot, but the fact that corrections are in personal has made me remember more my mistakes so I don’t repeat them again.

Outside the English class the language still is present in my life, in the music I listen and the series because I always watch the series or movies in their original language (with subtitles obviously) but in listening I think I’m good so if I have to work while I watch a movie I know what is happening.

My weak area as I already mentioned is the pronunciation and the writing of the language, the way I think I can Improve is by practicing, I listen to things in English but I don’t talk every day, sometimes I sing but that is in Spanglish and I don’t know if I pronounce well, and when I have to repeat it after I think is easier but when I have to it alone I suck.

I hope improve my English because for me is important talk a language more international , if I want travel that would give me more confidence also in this days English is more important in a professional than years ago.

Changes that could be made for my study programme

Currently I have five subjects counting English so I think the curricular charge it is ok, but I would like learn how use computer softwares of architecture, because I don’t even know  how to use Photoshop and that it is a very important problem at the time to do a project, so here you have to learn for your own and for me that is not fair, I mean I don’t pay nothing because I have gratuity but the people how pay I think it is too much for a career where you have to be so  autodidact. Teachers expect that you learn on your own and for that they expect more in a project made in computer. The faculty has computer laboratories and in general all the architects know how to use these programs (like AutoCAD, sketch up, I don't even know the names -.-) so I don’t know what is the problem with teaching students the basic things, I’m not talking about an entire year learning how use them but a semester and once a week I think it's ok, or at least like an optional CFG, all the people seem to be okay with this, maybe I’m the only outdated.

Another change I would do is the method of teaching workshop, I think the teacher in the first weeks you enter to this career should show you his works, examples of what they really want, like draws of architecture made for them, plans, examples of models, not for us to copy what they do but at least for us to know the way to make things here.

If you look at this being an inexpert person that doesn’t even know how to use  word well you would be scared like I am.
